Okay, so I know we have a list of ships that people have but I am kind of curious what kind of loadouts everyone is shooting for on their ships, and what specs are most important to you. The customizable options of the ships is kind of the reason I got my second 325a. I am hoping to make one that is just straight up combat oriented. Use every upgrade component on making it just a badass fighter. While the other ship I was going to kind of hold off on until I found out what all upgrades I can actually put on it. Anything to make it a nuisance in a large scale dogfight would be nice. Maybe just a ship almost completely oriented on jamming missile lock-ons and communications would be just awesome. As for my Ghost I want that ship to be just that.. A ghost. I would love to use that ship for reconnaissance missions and maybe stalking large ships out into space so we could get the jump on them. I have a feeling that the maneuverability is going to be a key spec when it comes to the dogfights. The more thrusters you have dedicated to maneuvering the better you can get those turns on an enemy fighter. That was part of the appeal of the 300 series ships. Customizable, good amount of upgrade slots and weapons and a large number of maneuvering thrusters.

Let's see, I got the 315p for two main reasons: 1) The upgraded factory engine and jump engine means I'll be able to make further jumps in less time. 2) tractor beam.
With this setup, the plan is to grab as much loot as possible and then be able to bounce as soon as there is any sign of trouble. If someone got a distress signal out, I'll be a so far away that any backup that they may call in will have to give up the chase. This leaves the question of how to upgrade to maximize it's effectiveness as a pirate vessel. This is why I really like the 300 series. Aside from having 2 class 3 weapon mounts on the wings in addition to the 2 factory class 1 lasers, 6 upgrade slots is massive for a ship of that size.
Now, there are two ways I can think of to make this really shine. First off, the obvious answer would be cram as much stealth in as I can to participate in the initial surprise attack. Secondly I could use that massive engine to boost the hell out of my shields and spend the majority of my slots on electronic counter measures and hacking equipment. This version would jump in right after the ambush has been sprung and support the attackers by hitting larger ships with electronic warfare. Shutting down shields, engines or turrets.
Not much has been revealed by CIG about what kinds of upgrades will be available but it should make for some interesting loadouts.

i am looking for a 2nd ship to be my ambusher i am thinking ether a 325A or a Avenger. from the ship specs they are the same in power plant, max shield, and weapons. the 325a wins in thruster numbers and upgrade slots. the avenger wins in cargo, engine sign, size, and its cheaper. but i cant pick

I have a feeling they are both going to be very customizable for whatever you want to spec the ship out to do. So I guess it really comes down to personal preference. Maybe factor in looks? Cargo size doesn't seem to be that important if you are going for like an ambush style fighter. I am partial to the 325A. I really like the like the look of it and the cockpit view.

Literally have no idea on this stuff. Where are you guys learning all this stuff on outfitting?
All I know is one of my ships is a Cutlass. Cause its a pirate ship. I'm also going to buy a Ghost... cause its a ghost. I literally have no idea out side of this.
Maybe we could set up a guide as more info comes in for idiots like me.

I'm thinking about setting my Connie up as a long range missile boat. As for my Hornet Tracker, I'm going to do whatever scanner/comms upgrades I can so I can assist with the C3 role.

Well as far as Power and Detection go I personally prefer Speed. When possible I am planning on upgrading my 300i to a 350r this way if I see "loose cargo" I can be in and out in as little time possible, that is assuming a tractor beam can be fitted. But of course "Its dangerous to go alone" so I'll be making good use of the missile hard points.

I will have one on mine too. pirates can't leave home without one!

I have not played that much since they are making some changes to the flight mechanic. I don't want to get used to a way of flying and then have them completely change it. I did try it 3 days ago. regular vanduul swarm. I got to level 9 and the game froze. I had not lost a life yet and used only one missile. Also, any time I borrow weapons from another ship and try playing with the fully loaded ship, the game spawns me in my stock aurora. I'll play again next week when they release 2.0 alpha though.
